Magic has always been somthing that has interested me. From a very early age I was captivated by big stage illusions. People were shackled, submerged upside-down in water and somehow escaped just in the nick of time; magicians caught bullets in their teeth, they in-explicably transported from one part of the stage to another and had managed to change costumes in transit! Looking back I can see that I had a fascination with the danger in which these individuals placed themselves - it was all the more interesting when as a viewer I believed that there was an element of will he make it or not.....

I also loved the mystery and strived to understand the mechanisms of how they worked. I was perplexed by their mechanics and complexity. Several years later I was reacquainted with magic. This time it wasn't grand stage magic, but more intimate close-up magic. I remember the way I felt when I saw the magician perform miracles in front of me with cards and coins. This was when I decided that I really wanted to pursue magic and take what at the time was a mere interest in magic and turn it into something more personal and explorative. I knew that the way magic made me feel was a feeling that I wanted to pass on to others.

At about the age of 16, after having left school I began to practice magic all the time. I cleared the shelves in the library, spent all my money, on DVD's and props. I realised there was so much to actually learn, but this did not deter me from practicing endlessly. A couple of years later, after all the practice and hard work, I had gone from the perplexed kid at the table to the professional performing magician. Today I have been performing professionally for over 10 years. It is not only something I do for enjoyment, but also because I know how much pleasure others get from seeing me perform. It is sometimes hard for me to remember just how special magic is. I often wish I was once again the uninitiated kid at the table, so I could appreciate just how special my magic is. It is something that is taken for granted I suppose.
